It’s that time of year again. Influencers everywhere are forecasting what we will like in the upcoming year. But how do they know? Out of the over 3500 colours available from Benjamin Moore, who decides that Gray Cashmere will be one of colours homeowners will want on their walls, or doors, or trim in 2021?

Forecasting is apparently both a science and an art. Based on information taken from consumer surveys, field reports and split tests, they launch into the art of colour forecasting. They go to tradeshows, watch popular TV shows, analyze POP culture, and take the temperature of the economy. From this they choose the emerging colours that best reflect how we’re all going to be feeling and living 2 years into the future.

The twelve, soothing new colours selected by Benjamin Moore for The Colour Trends 2021 Palette will make any home feel warm and welcoming. With soft hues of Aegean Teal and warm cozy colours like Potters Clay, these colours are both intriguing and enveloping. Obviously, the experts at Benjamin Moore knew we would all need a few extra hugs this year.

We decided to choose some of the products you can find in our Shop and see what a room, using the 2021 palette could look like. The room, featuring our Kylie Sea Blue Velvet Dining Chairs and the Gia Black Round Mirror, against the Benjamin Moore Atrium White walls, is as warm and inviting, as it Is exotic. The rubbed brass table pedestal echoes the warmth and metallic hues of the Chestertown Bluff and Potter’s Clay. This space transports you, without ever leaving home.

At LFI Design we can’t wait to show you how to create your new space using colour, furnishings and our design experience. Give us a call. We’d love to help you design the room of your dreams.
